Rhoden Appoints Pilcher to Parole Board

HURON, SD - South Dakota Governor Larry Rhoden appointed Huron attorney Aaron Pilcher to the state Board of Pardons and Parole. The board is a nine member appointed board charged with the authority to make decisions about parole, the revocation of parole, and parole policy and procedure.

"Pardons and Parole is an active board that makes important decisions for our criminal justice system and our state as a whole," Pilcher said. "Thank you, Governor Rhoden, for allowing me the opportunity to serve in this capacity ."

Pilcher currently serves as the Sanborn County States Attorney, and he operates a private practice in Huron. The position has a 4-year term, and is Senate confirmable. It is expected Pilcher's nomination will be considered by the Senate Judiciary Committee during the upcoming legislative session.
