Associate Attorney - Family Law & Criminal Defense

Pilcher Law Firm is seeking an energetic, self-starter with 0-3 years of professional legal experience. The ideal candidate will be familiar with Microsoft Office software, computer-based case management software, Westlaw legal research, and public legal research options like the South Dakota Legislative Research Council, the Unified Judicial System, and the LII / Legal Information Institute. 

Caseload will include a variety of general matters, including state criminal defense (misdemeanors, low-level felonies, abuse and neglect of minors), family (divorce, custody, visitation, spousal support, child support), 

Compensation will be competitive and DOE. Partnership track negotiable. 

Requirements: Licensed to practice law by the South Dakota Supreme Court.

Pilcher Law Firm is seeking an energetic, self-starter with 1-3 years of professional legal experience concentrated in litigation. The ideal candidate will be familiar with Microsoft Office software, computer-based case management software, Westlaw legal research, and public legal research options like the South Dakota Legislative Research Council, the Unified Judicial System, and the LII / Legal Information Institute. 

Caseload will include primarily litigation matters, including contract litigation, construction litigation, municipal litigation, and agricultural litigation. 

Compensation will be competitive and DOE. Partnership track negotiable.

Associate Attorney - Estate Planning & Administration

Pilcher Law Firm is seeking an energetic, self-starter with 1-3 years of professional legal experience concentrated in estate planning and administration. The ideal candidate will be familiar with Microsoft Office software, computer-based case management software, Westlaw legal research, and public legal research options like the South Dakota Legislative Research Council, the Unified Judicial System, and the LII / Legal Information Institute. 

Caseload will include primarily creation of estate plans utilizing wills and trusts, powers of attorney, and living wills, also probate and trust administration, guardianship matters, succession planning, and some estate specific litigation. 

Compensation will be competitive and DOE. Partnership track negotiable.
